A BILL to amend article three, chapter six-b of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated section six-a, relating to lobbyists; and prohibiting former legislators and government officers or employees from engaging in lobbying activities.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That article three, chapter six-b of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated section six- a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. LOBBYISTS.

§6B-3-6a. Former legislators or government officers or employees.

Former legislators or government officers or employees, as defined in section one of this article, are prohibited from lobbying or engaging in any lobbying activity, as defined insection one of this article, for a period of four years from the last date that person served as a legislator, government officer or employee.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit former legislators, public office holders or government employees from engaging in lobbying activities for a period of four years from the last date of service in office.
